Personal Fundraising

Carlisle Youth Zone wants to provide young people in Carlisle & Cumbria with somewhere to go, something to do & someone to talk to.  Because we know Young people grow and prosper in this environment and become part of society rather than outside it.

However CYZ cannot continue to carry out this work without your support to raise vital running costs.

Annually Carlisle Youth Zone costs around £850,000, this equates to £566 per young person per year and we need your help to keep the cost to young people low and the quality of the service high.

Giving some of your time to raise money to support  Carlisle Youth Zone can be a rewarding experience, you’ll meet new people, have fun at the same time as improving the lives of young people in Carlisle and Cumbria.

Fundraising for the CYZ is only limited to your imagination, there are many ways to some ideas are below to start you thinking:

Bake Sale, fancy dress at work, office Olympics, sponsored walk, run or swim, team karaoke, dance, coffee morning, car wash, climb a mountain, shave your head ….

Come dine with me style dinner party, Bingo Night, Raffle, Inside out clothes day, Sports Match.

The most important thing to remember is work as a team and have loads of fun!

Things to think about when fundraising for CYZ:

Gift Aid

By returning your sponsorship form ensuring your sponsors fill in their full name, home address & postcode and ticking the ‘Gift Aid’ box CYZ will be able to claim back around 25% on each donation. A gift aid form will be included when you request a fundraising pack.

Fundraising Online

Carlisle Youth Zone are registered with BT’s online giving website mydonate. mydonate is a free service which means you can set up your own personal fundraising page online and people can donate online to you directly through this page. Using mydonate from BT you can also set a target, upload photos and write personal messages – its all free, safe and simple.

Match Giving

Thinking of fundraising for CYZ? Why not challenge your employer to support you by matching the amount you raise in sponsorship for your challenge or task? Many companies will contribute to employees fundraising as it is tax efficient for them, a great way of showing they care about the activities of their staff and it doubles your total.

Donate Directly to CYZ

Do you wish to help support young people in Carlisle & Cumbria through a direct donation? Donating online through BT mydonation will be available shortly, however if you wish to make a donation in the meantime please send a cheque made payable to Carlisle Youth Zone and send to Carlisle Youth Zone, Victoria Place, Carlisle, CA1 1LR or why not pop in and see us? Unfortunatley we are currently unable to take card payments, however this will be avalible through the BT mydonate website.

Legacy Funding

Leaving a legacy in your will to Carlisle Youth Zone will go towards funding quality provision for young people in Carlisle & Cumbria for years to come, your gift can also be pin pointed for any specific projects upon your request. For more information about legacy funding please contact CYZ.
