Following an earlier career in the Fire Service, Longtown born Robin Brown established System Training in 1988, primarily to deliver advanced car training. Robin has lead the development of the System brand from a small local business employing four people to become the UK’s leading logistics training company, employing more than 300 people.    

Robin’s dynamic ability to manage an ever evolving and fast growing business has meant that System Training have been at the forefront of new opportunities which have been adopted Nationally by the logistics industry.  These include the development of NVQ and Apprenticeship programmes to ensure recognition of industry skills, particularly for young people.

In addition to Robin’s responsibilities within System Training, he plays an active role in the local business community. System have been sponsors of Carlisle United for many seasons with Robin now a Vice President of the club.

Robin is a great advocate and supporter of the Youth Zone project and strongly believes it will enhance the social skills and creative talent of the City’s younger generation for many years to come.
