Wednesday Night Projects

CYZ is now open as a drop in on a Wednesday night from 3.30-9pm for all Senior Club members. Drop in and take part in the projects available – details below – or get stuck into the usual activities going on.

These projects provide you with the perfect opportunity to polish your skills at an activity you already do in CYZ, or try something new. Some of these projects come with a charge and some are free – make sure you check the details below.

LGBTQ Group

Open to: Senior Club members

Cost: Free

Time: 5-7pm

The Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender and Questioning project is welcoming project for anyone who would like to find out more information about this subject. 

Youth Zone Magazine Group

Open to: Senior Club members

Cost: 50p

Time: 5-6.30pm

CYZ is launching its own magazine! A magazine written by CYZ members, for CYZ members. A chance to write articles, find out whats going on in the clubs and what the latest fashions are.

Fundraising and Events Group

Open to: Senior Club Members only

Cost: Free

Time: 4pm

We are now focussing on our Christmas Crafts Fair that is happening on Wednesday 7th December from 3.30pm until 8.30pm. We will be making crafts to sell on the senior club stall. There is also an opportunity for our enterprising members to come up with their own stall that they run themselves. The crafts session will run from 4pm until 7pm, you do not need to be there for the whole session so please feel free to come down anytime. We want to make lots of fab crafts to raise money for Senior Club so we can make the sessions even better! I look forward to seeing you all there.

Dance & Drama Sessions

Open to: Senior Club members only

Cost: £1 per session

Time: 4.30-7.30pm (1 hour Dance & 1 hour Drama & 1hour Singing)

These sessions will give young people the opportunity to take part in focused dance and/or drama sessions away from the distractions of main club nights. Participants will work on a range of skills and techniques and have the chance to perform regularly, both at CYZ and at external venues.

Multisport Club

Open to: Any member aged between 8-13

Cost: 50p

Time: 6.30-7.30pm

Ever wanted the chance to try something new? Bored of playing the same old sports at home or at school? Why not come along to our new Multisports Club! Try something new every week, play games that will help you speed, agility and balance and most of all have loads of fun!

CYZ Volleyball Club

Open to: Any member aged between 13 -18

Cost: £1

Time: 6.30-8.30pm

The first team sports club to set up at Carlisle Youth Zone, hopefully the first of many successful clubs! Members will take part in coached sessions to improve their volleyball skills and will have the opportunity to play in competitive tournaments and matches. No experience is necessary just come down and enjoy one of the world’s most popular games! Don’t wait until London 2012 to see what a great game Volleyball can be, try it for yourself at CYZ!

Climbing Club 

Open to: Any member aged between 13 -18

Cost: £1

Time: 5-7pm

Open to: Anyone 12 and over who feels ready to move to Senior Club
