We’ve been here for Carlisle’s young people since 2011, nearly 3000 of you come every year to hang with friends, make new ones, try something different and make a difference to you, and to your community. We’re here for all young people aged 7 – 17 (up to age 25 with additional needs). Open 6 nights a week, and just 50p a session (same price since forever).

Now in our teenage years we’re reaching twice as many young people as when we opened. Your support allows us to work at scale and one-on-one. Today, our “No Child Missed” policy is more vital than ever. We’re here for every young person — with a clear focus on reaching those who need us most.

Carlisle Youth Zone (CYZ) was the first in a now growing network of Youth Zones across the country, adopting a pioneering place-based approach to meet young people’s needs. Since opening its doors in April 2011, the charity has become a successful hub of support and opportunity for those aged 7 to 17 years (and up to 25 years with additional needs).
Every day we set out to be a leading example of the power of youth work. Making the most of our purpose-built youth facility, complete with a gym, music room, library, climbing wall, sports hall, café, arts area, dance space, and recreation zones, our team dedicated of youth workers, volunteers, and mentors create a fun and safe environment where every young person is seen, valued and heard.
